    FAQ

    General Blog and Recipe Questions

Why is your blog called Gastronotherapy?

Gastronotherapy is a portmanteau of "gastronomy" and "therapy". Essentially, I wanted a word that conveys what being in the kitchen does for me:  gets me out of my head, relaxes me, helps me focus, calms my anxiety, and allows me to be creative.

What types of services do you offer?

    -- Recipe development
    -- Food  photography

What kind of camera do you use?

    I use a Leika D-Lux Typ 109.

How can I print your recipes?

Each recipe has a print button located in the recipe card above the ingredients list.

I tried your recipe and it didn't work for me. Why?

Since we are not in your kitchen, we can’t say for sure why a particular recipe isn’t working for you. That being said, if the recipe isn’t working for you there are a few steps you can take.

    * First, read over the recipe and ingredients to ensure you didn't miss something.
    * Ensure you haven’t made any changes to the recipe as written.
    * Read through the reader comments as well as the full description in the post for tips regarding the recipe.
    * If you still aren’t sure, please leave me a comment directly on the recipe and we will do our best to troubleshoot and help you along. It’s best to post directly on the recipe because others may have the same question or suggestions on how to fix it.

Why are ingredients like {insert ingredient here} included in recipes? Those aren’t healthy ingredients - they contain chemicals and/or additives.

Gastronotherapy.com provides all types of recipes for all levels of skill and lifestyles. These recipes include a variety of ingredients including some packaged, frozen, and canned items. If these items don’t fit in with your personal lifestyle, there are plenty of from-scratch recipes here too.
